Over a decade to bring Home Depo to New Jersey
Marcus's parents were Jewish immigrates that barley got by
He believed you should always stride for higher goals
He was a proud owner of pharmacy
Liked working on the floor
He played offense and defense in football
He got straight A's in university then started his first business
1974 Bernie and Arthur worker for the same company
1978 Home Depo was born, both men got fired
Home Depo was a dangerous (risky) idea
1979 was an orange letter day for home depot
They all moved to Atlanta
They paid all the customers 1dollar if they came on the opening day
Great Service
Customers came from along way to shop at Home Depo
When Home Depo first opened up it was very active and loud
Marcus was the money guy and Bernie was the cheerleader
Higher wages then anyone else in the industry
1st year was tough but the second year was a profit almost 1million dollars
opened 4 stores in Flordia
Marcus 1.6billion worth
