Hilton Hotels

First born son was names Conrad
His father loved to show off his handle bars
Gust expected Conrad to work for him
He liked to dance
Opened up the first town bank
Conrad was 26 without a career
Served in world war 1
Had experience with dry goods
He knew his father would like him to take over his general store
Wanted to pursue his life as a bank
Then thought why not be a hotel owner?
Bought his first hotel for 40,000
Was able to buy fixer upper hotels for dirt cheap and turned them around
Profits soared
earning $100,000 a year owning 8 hotels
Conrad had a vision for his business
October 1929 the great depression took place and his business came to a halt
He didn't end up going bankrupt and gained a rock solid reputation
Wife left him in 1931
1940 he went to
When people are fearful they will do anything
Conrad was a very positive thinker
Always told himself "one day I'm going to own that hotel"
